Gradient Mesh
Flowing, animated color blobs create a living, organic background. Common on SaaS landing pages and modern portfolios.
Also called: aurora effect, blob animation, mesh gradient
Living background
Blurred circles animate slowly behind the content
How it works
Large circles with filter: blur(80px) overlap and animate with CSS @keyframes. The blur blends colors into a smooth mesh.
- Tools: CSS only, SVG filters, or WebGL for more complex meshes
- Stripe, Linear, and Vercel popularized this look
